Directions to Liberty Hill Road
Driving to our cabin on Liberty Hill is fairly simple. It's worth noting that some map programs give wrong directions. Because the middle section of Liberty Hill Road is not traversable you must enter from Rochester (east) side, not the Pittsfield (south) side. The following directions work for all points south:
- Take Rt. 93 North into New Hampshire.
- Get off onto Rt. 89 North shortly before Concord. You will be on I-89 for 84 miles. When you enter Vermont (just after Lebanon) you will be about 50 minutes away from our cabin.
- Get off at Exit 3 for Rt. 107 (Bethel). At the end of the ramp turn right onto 107. You should pass a Vermont State Police barracks within a mile or so.
- After about 3 miles you'll enter Bethel. Turn left to stay on 107, going under the bridge.
- When you reach Rt. 100, turn a sharp right onto Rt. 100 North.
- You'll be on Rt. 100 for about 5 miles. Watch for a golf course on your left. Just after the golf course, turn left onto Liberty Hill road. It's easy to miss at night.
- Liberty Hill is windy and steep in parts. High beams are recommended at night. If it has snowed since the last plowing, snow chains or 4WD are a must. First gear is recommended for the steep sections.
- Our cabin is a mile in-- you will pass a dairy farm, a pillared house followed by a steep incline, then a white house with a big barn and silo, all on your left. Our cabin is a few hundred feet past on your left.
Total driving time from Boston is about 3 hours with normal traffic.
